Dorjën – the Path of the Awakening Dragon

A couple of years ago a painting of Leonardo da Vinci was found under 17 layers of paint, hidden from view, protected and awaiting the perfect timing to be revealed. This is a perfect analogy to the way mystical truth is being carrying by religions and various spiritual traditions.

Carefully handled generation by generation, kept as diligently as possible with the “medicine carriers”, in most cases, completely unaware of the gift, the power and infinite force for change they are holding amidst their stories, their rituals their prayers.

Throughout history many different mystics have unveiled these incredible truths. For the mystic is a Rishi — a seer. They see through the veil or layers of illusion and always recognize the diamond in the rough.

Dorjën is one of these carefully hidden secrets. Buried for centuries in the vault of Vajrayana Buddhism, awaiting the proper moment to be revealed. It is however, as any spiritual gem, hidden in plain sight. That’s why when it is being taught there is an immediate sense of familiarity, a knowing that you just can’t explain.

The Dorjën perspective goes beyond the logical mind, yet makes so much sense and it is absolutely clear as day. When the Dragon within you is ready to be awakened you will heed it’s calling. One by one the doorways to the unknown will open right in front of your eyes. The sound of life will be more magical than you have ever dreamed, the colors of creation will swirl within your waking consciousness. The liquid fire within your veins will kindle your passion to live so fully like you have never known before.

I am intrigued. Dorjen. I am aware of the Tibetan Dorje, otherwise called Vajra. This is an interesting symbolic sceptre used in Vajrayana ceremonies, and represents significant concepts or principles. Kai, you are a Dorjen master, and reading the article I sm not sure I am on the same page? The Vajra or Dorje is potent with masculine energy – as you know – thunderbolt, hard – Tantric terms – if you get my drift . Your article uses a different spelling – am I off track here? I would like to understand this Dragon you talk of…..unless I already do?

Dorjen is a mystery and is not a direct part of Tibetan Buddhism. You can find snippets of it when you read about Vajrayana in Bhutan. But as you mentioned, for most, the Vajra is a symbol, or a ceremonial instrument, where in Dorjen, the Dorje literally holds the spirit of your inner dragon. Dorjen is practiced with the awakening of this inner dragon, and to me in related, and experienced hand in hand with the practice of the shamanic medicine path.

Thanks for the reply. Bhutan is dear to my heart for a reason I have never been able to understand or explain. Blessings Kai.
